OLDER football fans can reminisce about the past at a new nostalgia group.
Connecting Communities has launched a brand new Football Nostalgia Group, being held every month at Hartlepool United’s Victoria Park stadium, in Clarence Road.
Organisers say the group, which is aimed at men aged over 50, is a great way for Pools fans to get together and discuss their passion for football.
Former Pools’ full-back Keith Nobbs attended the last meeting, sharing stories from his time as player and joining in with the nostalgic look-back and he is set to make an appearance at the next meeting this afternoon between 1pm and 3pm.
The sessions have been arranged by staff at Hartlepool Carers to give carers and people with dementia a group to go to but organisers say they open to anybody over the age of 50.
Kate Hogan, carer support worker, said: “We have had two sessions so far and they have proved popular with people. The club have been very supportive and helpful and Keith Nobbs came along to the last session and was brilliant.”
The next session will be held on Wednesday, April 16 between 1pm and 3pm.
