A COUNCIL-RUN school holiday club for children has lined up an action-packed week of activities during the February half-term school break.
Oscars kids club is based at West Rugby Club, in Catcote Road, Hartlepool.
And today a string of activities and outings have been announced, which are suitable for children aged three-years-old up to 16-years-old, to run from Monday, February 16, to Friday, February 20.
The service, which has been running for over 20 years, has been hailed as “outstanding” by Ofsted inspectors.
During the half term holidays, parents are able drop off their children from 8am with breakfast provided for them on arrival.
They then embark on an action-packed day of fun and thrills prior to being collected by parents by 5.45pm.
Sandra Robinson, Hartlepool Borough Council’s Out of School Coordinator, said: “The team have put together a varied programme which includes model making, sports band games and trips to the cinema and Summerhill.
“Children will be making pancakes on February 17 to celebrate Shrove Tuesday, and on February 19 we’re having a Chinese theme day to tie in with Chinese New Year.
“Our experienced team are great with the children and everyone is looking forward to the half term programme.”
She added: “As a parent I know how difficult it can be to juggle working and looking after the children and hopefully Oscar’s can make things easier for parents during school holidays.
“Children have a great time with us and parents can relax knowing that their children are enjoying themselves and are in safe hands.”
An after-school service is also available during term-time, which involves Oscar’s staff picking up children from school and transporting them to the Catcote Road centre where they take part in a wide range of educational and fun activities.
Parents then have until 6pm to collect their children.
Anyone who wishes to book, or would like to view the Oscar Playcentre facilities, or requires further information should telephone Oscars on 07771936968.
