The Heugh Battery is planning a theme day on Saturday, September 3 with loads of activities for people to enjoy. Museum manager Diane Stephens said: “There will be lots of characters to see, a barbecue and a special Star Wars tombola.

“The usual admission charges apply and children dressed as Star Wars characters will get in half price.”

The fun will last from 10am to 4pm and the Star Wars-based costume group 99th Garrison will also be there.

There’s lots to enjoy at the Battery in Moor Terrace, including its last car boot sale of the year which will be held on Sunday, September 18. It is open to the public between 9am and 12pm and the entry fee is 50 pence.

The museum re-opens at 1pm to visitors.

Diane added: “There are still spaces available for sellers at £5 for a car space, or £3 if you would like a table only.”

Sellers should arrive at 8am for set-up and spaces must be booked and paid for in advance at the museum.

It is open between 10am and 4pm from Thursday to Sunday.
