A quartet of fundraising superheroes has flown into Hartlepool.
John Figiel, Paul Greensides, Evan Mitchell, and Lee Jones are running more than 400 miles to raise cash for the RNLI, and called into the town’s lifeboat station on their way. They set off from Norfolk almost three weeks ago, heading for Newcastle in time to take part in tomorrow’s Great North Run.
The Great Superhero Run has seen the four friends cover the equivalent of a marathon a day for 17 consecutive days and they have raised more than £13,000.
Hartlepool RNLI Lifeboats operations manager Mike Craddy said: “The runners and their support team stayed overnight at the Ferry Road lifeboat station and were made welcome by the crew.
“The runners are doing a marvellous job fund-raising for the RNLI and we wish them well for the remainder of their journey.”
