GROUPS and organisations in Hartlepool are being urged to bid for money from a community cash pot.
Grants of up to £2,000 are available from Hartlepool Borough Council’s Civic Lottery for leisure, recreational or environmental projects in the borough which meet the eligibility criteria.
Also, up to £300 is available to amateur sports teams – such as football, netball, cricket teams – and to jazz bands to help towards their running costs.
Grants of up to £100 are also available to senior citizens’ groups to help towards the cost of a Christmas party or summer outing.
Susan Rybak, the council’s community resources manager, said: “In recent years the Civic Lottery has provided a very welcome cash boost to a wide range of community events and projects.
“We would urge people to get in touch with us to find out more about the eligibility criteria and to see if the Civic Lottery could help them.
“Applications for grants are considered three times a year.”
