A Spooktacular event proved to be a huge success.
Thousands of people of all ages turned out to brave the zombies, vampires, witches and trolls at the second annual Friends of Ward Jackson Park Spooktacular Halloween event.
Dozens of volunteer actors and actresses from Hartlepool and the surrounding areas transformed themselves into scary creatures for the event.
A Friends of Ward Jackson Park spokesman said: “This and all of our events are organised and run purely by volunteers, everyone had an amazing time, not just the visitors but the actors and everyone involved.
“Because of the unexpected high volume of visitors alongside the 2,000 presold tickets, there were a few issues which will be discussed for the next Spooktacular Halloween Event.
“Special thanks to every single volunteer that helped including Selina Wilson, Tesco community champion, Tesco staff and management, Hartlepool Stage Society, Cleveland Volunteer Police Cadet Programme, Radio Hartlepool, Irene Cross, Hartlepool Borough Council community development officer, Deborah Jefferson, Hartlepool Countryside Wardens and her volunteer team, Friends of Hartlepool’s Wild Green Spaces, The Place in the Park coffee shop, all the volunteer stewards and photographers, Hartlepool Water, Hartlepool Mail and everyone else who gave up their day to help make this event unforgettable.”
The Friend’s next events are treemendous tree dressing on December 5 and a Christmas fair on December 12, for information go to the friends website, facebook or twitter@friendsofwjp.
