Greatham Feast is under way and here's a rundown on the events still to come
The 555th Greatham Feast is under way and there's lots to enjoy in the coming days.
Activities got under way with tournaments in football, darts, dominoes and cribbage.
And in the days to come, the village will enjoy shows, competitions and live entertainment.
Hundreds of people are expected to take part and the Feast committee chairman Bev Hutchinson said a small, but dedicated committee of people had worked tirelessly to put on a great range of events.
Relay races, egg and spoon challenges and other traditional games are being planned as well as a yard of ale competition.
Activities already held included a pensioners tea party, baby show and church service at the parish church of St John the Baptist.
Tomorrow, crowds will gather on the village green for the grand parade.
Sunday’s highlights include a church service and games.
Greatham Feast has been held since the 15th Century to bring the community together and mark the birthday of St John the Baptist on June 24.
