THE grieving widow of a cyclist killed on a back lane has been left distraught after treasured mementos to her husband went missing.

Lynne Bratt placed a flag, football shirts and other tributes to her late husband Kevin at the spot on a country road where he tragically lost his life.

Lynne was asked to remove the items, most of which were Newcastle United-related to mark Kevin’s devotion to the football team, for fear of spooking horses which travel along Dalton Back Lane.

Lynne had no problems in doing that. But when she arrived at the spot of the tragedy she was shocked and upset to find someone had already taken the memoirs.

Lynne is now appealing for help in retrieving the tributes of huge sentimental value.
