GROWERS proudly showed off the fruits of their labours at a popular horticultural show.
The Borough Hall on the Headland, Hartlepool, was filled with flowers, fruit and vegetables for the Hartlepool Horticultural Show on Saturday.
The popular festival also incorporated the National Gladiolus Society Northern Exhibition.
There was strong competition in more than 100 classes covering a wide variety of flowers and home-grown produce.
Budding gardeners entered a variety of children’s classes including best miniature garden on a plate.
Allotment holders exhibited in a series of sections and bakers were invited to show off their skills.
Trophies were presented to the winners after a panel of four judges, including show secretary Tom Hammond, carried out the tough task.
The show is supported by Hartlepool Borough Council and is regarded as one of the best horticultural shows in the north of England.
