An advice service in Hartlepool is hoping to become a supermarket’s charity of the year - but is calling for your help.
The Hartlepool Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB), which is based in Park Road, Hartlepool, has been shortlisted by the Sainsbury’s store at Middle Warren to become their chosen charity of the year.
The CAB is delighted to be on a short list of three local charities vying to become the Sainsbury’s champion.
If successful it means that staff at the Middle Warren store will help the CAB staff with fundraising for the next year.
Bureau manager Joe Michna said: “We are very pleased that Sainsbury’s has shortlisted us.
“We have previously worked with the Middle Warren store on a two-day fundraising event in March this year for our 75th anniversary - which was a great success.
“The staff at the Middle Warren store were very supportive and made us feel very welcome.”
The CAB is now asking for local residents to give them their vote.
People wishing to vote for the CAB can do this is a number of ways:
• By going onto the Sainsbury’s website HERE and using the ‘Vote Me’ button and then entering their postcode and vote,
• Voting slips can also be obtained from the CAB offices on Park Road or at the Sainsbury’s store at Middle Warren.
Voting started on the June 15 and lasts until June 27.
Bureau Training Officer, Janet Noble said: “All the staff at our offices are thankful to Sainsbury’s for putting us on the shortlist and it would be great if we become their local charity of the year.”
