ART with a Halloween and Bonfire Night theme is going on show.

Talented artists from the Hartlepool Art Studio are creating a series of murals on the windows of the Sainsbury’s store at Middle Warren in Hartlepool.

The work is being done for free and in return, the charity gets to promote its work in store. People can get leaflets about the charity and put donations into collection boxes.

Sainsbury’s PR and charity ambassador for the store, Tracie Bestford, said: “The murals will have a Bonfire Night and a Halloween theme but they will be child friendly so they won’t be too scary.

“We shall have collection boxes in the store as well. Our customers are really generous so we hope we can raise a lot of money.”

Hartlepool Art Studio runs a project called the Artrium which runs art schemes.

Project manager Colin Thompson said: “The whole idea of the murals is to raise awareness and funds which will go towards maintaining our services.”

He added: “We have great volunteers already and we would like more. We could not do what we do without them,”
