Mark Nicholson driving his purpose-built “Scamp” came first overall, with club secretary Stuart Leighton coming third overall in his recently modified Nissan Micra.

Club chairman Phil Peek came in seventh place, following a “wrong direction” penalty, but managed a ‘first in class’ result in his road standard Mazda MX-5.

The crew set out on their 260-mile round trip at 6am. The event consisted of 17 driving tests around a pre-set course of cones.
