Hartlepool Male Voice Choir is encouraging more singers to join their ranks.
The choir is currently holding a recruitment drive and promises comradeship, friendship and the chance to travel far and wide representing the town.
Choir leaders say now is a particularly good time to join as they are starting to learn their programme for their 35th Christmas Concert in December.
It will also form the basis of much of next year’s concert repertoire.
Duncan Graham, chairman of Hartlepool Male Voice Choir, said: “Singing makes you feel good, improves your breathing, posture, mental ability, concentration and self-esteem.
“The buzz that you get when your performance is greeted with applause from an appreciative audience.
“Any performer will tell you that there is nothing quite like it.”
In the past, the choir has performed in prestigious venues including The Royal Albert Hall, Sheffield Arena, The Sage in Gateshead, Newcastle City Hall, The Usher Hall Edinburgh, and Durham Cathedral as well as scores of local events.
They have also travelled abroad to Germany and shared the stage with choirs from all over the UK and Sydney in Australia.
The choir is open to men of all ages and all that is needed is commitment.
Duncan added: “Just bring yourself and friends along with your voices. Our Musical Director will teach you all you need to know and no previous experience is necessary.”
