Hartlepool company reports great trading results - and there's more to come this year, bosses at Stadium have indicated

Stadium, which has a plant in Brenda Road in the town, has posted a normalised profit before tax of £4m which is up by 48.2% on 2014.

Revenues were up by 29% to £53.9m.

The figures for 2015 also showed that sales of the company’s technology products were up 92.4% to £27m although sales of electronic manufacturing services were down 3% to £26.9m.

Bosses have described last year’s performance as encouraging, and said they were looking to grow further this year.

Company chairman Nick Brayshaw said Stadium was continuing to strengthen its market position at a time when it was accelerating its plan to develop as a design-led technologies business.

Mr Brayshaw said Stadium was “now stronger and better positioned for growth” and that was thanks to the firm being able to offer upgraded technology in areas such as wireless and power.

He said the firm’s focus for 2016 was “to continue to grow our business organically” thanks to its skills in areas such as engineering expertise, its reputation as a global manufacturer and its “skilled people.”

And he also indicated that Stadium could grow further through “acquisitions that fit our strategy and would further strengthen our value-added offering to customers.

“We are encouraged by the strong order book and pipeline of opportunities across the group and the early indications are that the strong trading that we experienced in 2015 has continued into 2016.”

The Hartlepool plant is integral to the overall success of Stadium as it supplies the technology division.

It provides electronic technologies to markets including the industrial, marine, aviation, transport infrastructure and communication sectors.
