A Hartlepool group that helps adults with learning disabilities is planning a Halloween party tomorrow, thanks to the support of local businesses.

But the Voice 4 You group for adults with learning disabilities, which is managed by North East charity DISC, is still looking for donations of raffle prizes and decorations.

Linsey Carr, co-ordinator of the Voice 4 You,said: “By holding a party we hope to not only help current members enjoy themselves and raise money for the development of the group, but we’re looking to attract new members as well, to help shape the service moving forward.”

“If any local organisations, businesses or individuals would like to help in anyway, no matter how big or small, the group would be grateful for support.”

Hartlepool Borough Council has provided vouchers for the raffle, and Greggs the Bakers have donated food and drink for the party.

Voice 4 You meets at the Centre for Independent Living on Havelock Street in Hartlepool, once a fortnight on Thursday between 3pm- 4.30pm.

The meetings allow members to express their thoughts on how they are treated by local and regional organisations.

The party is on tomorow at the centre. Tickets cost £1 and the group is keen to welcome visitors or friends and family of those over-18s who experience learning difficulties.
