A fantastic line-up of young Hartlepool cheerleaders are days away from competing in a national finals at an Olympic venue.
The fab five youth stunt group level 3 team - consisting of Amy Snowdon and Connor Moran, both 12, Leah Wintersgill, 11, Alex Welsh, 10, and Hollie Mudd nine - are through to the last stages of the Legacy’s Championship called Stand Strong.
The group has been training very hard and are ready for this prestigious event. We all wish them the best of luckRebecca Taylor, Hartlepool Hawks cheerleading academy head coach
The regional championships were held at Northumbria University in February.
The team has already done Hartlepool proud and all of the team are part of the Hartlepool Hawks cheerleading academy.
The proud founder of the Hartlepool Hawks is its head coach and chairperson Rebecca Taylor.
She said: “They will be travelling to London to compete for a national title at the The Copper Box Arena, Olympic Park against other lucky qualifying teams across the UK.”
Rebecca said the students had “been training very hard and are ready for this prestigious event. “We all wish them the best of luck.”
This has been quite a year for the academy with a string of competition successes. Also this year, 45 cheerleaders qualified to compete in the British National Championships which were held in Telford.
And earlier this month, we told how another group of students qualified for The European Summit, which will be held at the Worcester Arena, in Worcester from July 25-26.
It will pitch the Hawks against the very best that Europe has to offer.
