A HOUSE was damaged by fire after two wheelie bins went up in flames in the early hours.

Firefighters were called after receiving reports of the blaze in Ryehill Gardens, Hartlepool, at around 4.40am on Sunday.

Two bins were alight and the flames spread to the house causing fire damage to a door, window and guttering at the back of the property.

Fortunately the fire officers from Stranton Station put the blaze out before it could spread anymore.

Nobody was injured in the fire and an investigation is now underway to determine how the blaze started.
