Hartlepool RNLI was called to the aid of a vessel this afternoon.

The Hartlepool RNLI all weather lifeboat and volunteer crew were alerted at 1.24pm today that a 27ft angling boat with two people on board had suffered mechanical failure five miles off the coast of Hartlepool.

The all weather lifeboat reached the vessel at around 2pm and towed it back to the Hartlepool Marina.

Lifeboat crews returned to the Ferry Road lifeboat station where the boat was refueled and made ready for action by 3.45pm.
