A lucky lottery player is celebrating after scooping more than £250,000 - but was just one number off sharing £114.8m jackpot.
The winning ticket, which was for Friday’s Euromillions draw, was bought in Hartlepool.
And the lucky ticket holder is now a cool £276,000 better off after matching five numbers and a lucky star.
The ticket was bought from Westhorp Newsagent, in Mulgrave Road.
Mike Westhorp, the owner of the shop, said: “I don’t know who it was, as I wasn’t in the shop at the time, but it goes without saying that we’re delighted for them.
“It’s the highest win we’ve ever had here. They came in to check their ticket, and I came into the shop just as they had left so I didn’t get the chance to congratulate them. It’s nice for us to be involved in a small way, and to have sold a winning ticket worth so much.”

Although the £276,669.50 win is sure to have thrilled the ticket holder, they were so close to becoming mult-millionaires.
Just one more lucky star would have earned them a share of a massive £114.8m jackpot, which was claimed by just one person, who was Portgual-based.
Meanwhile, a search for a North East-based winner of £1million is ongoing.
The National Lottery is looking for a Lotto Millionaire Raffle winner who has still not claimed their prize.
The winning ticket was bought in the city of Durham, and those who entered on October 31 are asked to double-check if they have won. The unique Lotto Millionaire Raffle code which won was BLUE 4869 0743, and the ticket holder has until April 28 to claim their prize.
