Hartlepool Marina bar Vibes to reopen this evening

Vibes, at Hartlepool Marina, has been taken over by new owners.

The bar was one of two venues that closed unexpectedly in April after bailiffs took possession of the premises.

The venue, at Navigation Point, was closed along with Rosie O’Grady’s, when bailiff possession notices went up in the windows.

Rosie’s reopened after just a couple of weeks and now Vibes, too, is back in business.

The bar has been taken over by a new business, the Spider Pub Company, and will reopen its doors from this evening.

Manageress Kara Langley said the firm had exciting plans for the venue, but was keen to get it back in business as quickly as possible in the meantime.

“We will be open from 6pm this evening,” she said.

“We are keeping it just the way it is for now. We are planning on having a full refurbishment in about six months’ time but at the moment, we are just looking at having it back up and running.

Kara, 32, has had plenty of experience in the trade and is looking forward to getting to grips with her latest charge.

“I have been running pubs since I was 18,” she said.

“I used to run a bar in Sunderland and now I have a place in Stanley.

“For the time being we are just reopening for drinks, sporting events etc. At the moment we are not doing food because we have not had a chance to get the kitchen sorted but we will be doing food in the future.”
