McDonald’s customers and staff are lovin’ their new-look restaurant which re-opened after a £600,000 revamp.
The fast food outlet in Burn Road, Hartlepool, was closed for three weeks to add a host of hi-tech new equipment including touch-screen kiosks where customers can order food and have it served to their table.
The drive-through has been upgraded to create an additional lane and new equipment has been installed in the kitchen which sees all food now made to order.
Jasper Maudsley, who also operates nine other McDonald’s restaurants across the North East, said: “I’m extremely pleased with the result. We are going to be able to serve more people quicker in a larger environment.”
The restaurant is one of only a handful of McDonald’s in the country to offer the table service.
Jasper added: “It is fantastic for parents with children.”

Technology lovers can also get to grips with five new tablets which feature everything from McDonald’s nutritional information and job opportunities to games and social media.
New equipment in the kitchen has also been installed to streamline customers’ orders including a food assembly line table hooked up to TV monitors.
“Everything is made to order. Before we had what we called a production bin where we kept product for a certain amount of time but now it is all freshly cooked.
“As soon as an order comes through it goes on to one of the screens,” added Jasper.
The dual lane drive through is another first for the town which bosses say will speed up service.
