Hartlepool McDonald's to be one of first in country to offer new service

The Burn Road branch of McDonald’s closes to customers on Wednesday for three weeks while it undergoes a major revamp.

Fast food fans will be able to enjoy a new-look McDonald’s with new digital technology installed.

The restaurant will become one of the first in the country to offer table service with the installation of new digital kiosks.

And a second lane is also being added to the drive through to speed up service for customers in their cars.

New digital technology is being fitted as part of the investment which will give customers more choice about how they order and pay for their food.

Digtal kiosks will allow customers to order food which will be brought to their table by staff.

The restaurant will still offer the option of ordering at the till.

Owner Jasper Maudsley who also operates nine other McDonald’s restaurants across the North East, said: “We’re excited about the upcoming transformation and the introduction of table service to the restaurant.

“We’re committed to offering our customers’ more choice and fast service. Technology has a huge role to play in all walks of life, including our customers’ eating out experience, so the new tech we’re introducing recognises the way people live their lives today.”

Adaptations will also be made to how the food is prepared and served.

The changes aim to create a more welcoming and enjoyable environment for customers.

The restaurant will re-open again on Thursday, June 30.

The Burn Road branch was the first McDonald’s to open in Hartlepool around 20 years ago.

Other branches are located in Middleton Grange shopping centre and at Hartlepool marina.
