A TOWN park has a string of up-coming events to keep families entertained.
Ward Jackson Park, in the West Park area of Hartlepool, is gearing up for a busy festive schedule.
The first event is being held tonight – a Christmas Service of Remembrance to pay tribute to loved ones .
The event will be held at the Band Stand , in the park, and starts at 6pm.
Hot refreshments are available and people are being encouraged to wrap up warm.
For further details contact Co-operative funerals on 274077.
There will also be a Santa Fun Run in the park this weekend on Sunday , December 7, hosted by Hartlepool and District Hospice.
The annual event is growing every year and organisers are hoping this year will be another record in attendance and sponsorship to raise as much cash as possible for the hospice, which cares for people with terminal and life-limiting illnesses.
The fun contest sees participants race, or walk, around the park. It starts at 11am and sponsorship forms are available from The Place in the Park Coffee Shop, and Hartlepool and District Hospice, in Wells Avenue.
All Santa suits are provided on registration on the day.
As well as the race there will also be a Christmas Fair taking place in the Garden Suite of The Place in the Park with donations going to the Hospice.
Youngsters can also take the chance to visit Santa in his Grotto.
