The sky was the limit when Hartlepool saw its first kite festival.

The International Kite Festival took place next to the Travelodge, on Hartlepool Marina, and saw two days of fun for people of all ages.

A giant funfair run alongside the kite festival at the site from Thursday and throughout the weekend.

At the funfair, there was a range of attractions, including hook-a-duck and the latest white knuckle thrill rides.

Family entertainment also took place, with free face painting among the attractions.

Several popular children’s characters, including Mickey Mouse and Elsa, from the popular Disney film Frozen, entertained the many visitors.

The event was organised by North East company W Crow Amusements, and this is the first staging of what will become an annual festival.
