A salon in Hartlepool is hoping to be a cut above the rest as it helps ill youngsters have a Christmas to remember.
Silhouette Beauty Room, based in York Road, is holding its annual toy collection.

Half of the toys will be handed to the Royal Victoria Infirmary, in memory of tragic Hartlepool toddler Jacob Jenkins.
Jacob passed away at the RVI in October after choking on a grape, and his mum, Abigail Wilson, is a client at the salon.
The other half of the toys will go to Granville Lodge, in Hartlepool, which provides residential care to children and young people with complex needs and learning disabilties.
A sponsored head shave will also take place at the salon in late January, as Adam Wiley has his head shaved and legs waxed in aid of the Jacob Jenkins fund.
Samantha Lewis, from Silhouette, said: “We do a toy collection every year, and we received over 3,000 presents last time. We really hope we can do the same again this year.
“We’re just trying to do our bit.
“At Christmas time, a lot of people start struggling with money.
“That’s especially true for parents of kids who are sick or are in hospital, when they’re travelling backwards and forwards and Christmas must be almost the last thing on their minds.
“We do it just to give something back and help to put families at ease.
“Our clients help us do it, and without them, it wouldn’t be possible.”
