ONE of Hartlepool’s finest companies has thrown its weight behind the inaugural Mail sports awards.

Hart Biologicals, the winner of the 2012 Hartlepool Business of the Year award, is one of the main sponsors of our first ever search for sporting heroes.

Managing director Alby Pattison said: “Hart Biologicals is happy to support the Hartlepool Mail Sports Awards as the company has close relationships with a number of sports clubs in the town – Hartlepool Rovers and Seaton Carew Cricket Club as sponsors and West Hartlepool as supporters of events.

“As a medical company, we recognise the importance of sport and fitness for improving the wellbeing of the town’s residents.”

Whether it is well known town stars or the unsung heroes of Hartlepool, we want to honour them all.

Over the next few weeks, we will be bringing you the stories of the people who have been nominated.

Then, in early October, we shall reveal our winners at a glittering awards night.

Mr Pattison added: “We would like to see the sports clubs and people of Hartlepool use the Hartlepool Mail Sports Awards to show the rest of the region what great work is going on in the towns sports organisations.”

The first entries have already started arriving at the Mail and we will be revealing more about them very soon.
