Hartlepool stalker left around 200 voicemails for his victim
A man who left hundreds of voicemails for a woman and monitored her emails is facing a prison sentence.
Karl Leighton, 29, of Church Street, Hartlepool, admitted stalking between April and June of this year.
A short plea hearing at Teesside Crown Court was told Leighton left about 200 voicemails for his victim.
Judge Stephen Ashurst said a probation report would be needed to assess the level of risk Leighton posed to women.
The judge told him: "All sentencing options will be open when you come to be sentenced, including custody.
"Any time you spend on remand will count towards a prison sentence, if that is what you get."
Leighton was remanded in custody until August 6 when it is expected he will be sentenced.
