HARTLEPOOL United fans are sure to be in a party mood this weekend as they cheer their team on in the final away game of the season.

Monday’s crucial win over Morecambe means the blue and white army can travel to Plymouth for their annual fancy dress parade without worrying about relegation.

It has become tradition in recent seasons for the travelling fans to go to the final away game in colourful costumes.

And after hordes of Oompa Loompas, Smurfs and penguins cheered Pools on in the past, the game at Plymouth Argyle’s Home Park will see the visiting section taken over by characters from cult television series Thunderbirds.

Because of the 650-mile round trip for the fixture, many fans are planning on leaving Hartlepool on Friday before making a weekend of it.

In previous seasons, the Poolies have featured across the national media and Twitter with their light-hearted antics and we’re sure this season’s knees-up will be no different.

If you are going to the game, send your pictures to mail.news@northeast-press.co.uk, post them on Twitter @HPoolMail using #PoolieThunderbirds or share them with us on our Facebook page.

We’ll use a selection of the best ones in the Mail and also on our website throughout the weekend so keep logging on to www.hartlepoolmail.co.uk.
