The badge will be changed for the start of the 2017-18 season, with the club saying it wants to replace it with a "more up-to-date design".

Pools fans are able to have their say on what they want to see included, with ideas being sought between now and the end of June.

Sketches and ideas can be sent to the club, with the best ones to be professionally designed at a later date.

A shortlist will then be drawn up of the best designs, with all supporters then able to vote on which one they would like to see emblazoned on the shirts.

Chairman Gary Coxall said: “We want to modernise the club crest, but we realise the importance of involving our supporters in the process.

“We have a few ideas of our own but I’m really looking forward to seeing what the fans come up with and how things evolve between now and the start of the 2017-18 season.

“One thing I think we have to make room for is the continued use of ‘The Town’s Club’ motto on the crest, so any designs will need to incorporate that.”

Sketches and ideas can be sent to Pools through an email titled 'Club Crest' to [email protected].
