Season ticket sales at Hartlepool United have broken through the 1,000 barrier.
Niramax Stand regular Mike Brown snapped up the 1,000th ticket for the new League Two campaign and club chairman Ken Hodcroft was on hand to hand it over.
Mr Brown, who was with grandson Henry, was buying a ticket for himself and son Paul in the Niramax Stand, at Victoria Park.
“There is a real buzz about next season,” said Mr Brown.
“You can feel it around the town, my friends are all talking about the new signings and looking forward to the new season like we haven’t done for the last couple.”
Mr Brown’s links with Hartlepool United go way back.
He added: “I was involved in sponsorship quite some time ago and I actually used to do the PA Announcing here for ten years prior to John Orley.
“I have been coming for 55 years now and I’ve had a season ticket for the last 15 years.
“I think we have a good chance of being up there, certainly in the top ten.
“Since Ronnie Moore arrived on the scene, it has been totally different. He has given everybody a lift.
“When we were getting crowds of 3,000 last season, I think a lot of season ticket holders missed out on some games because they were disappointed with the way things were going in the first half of the season.
“But I think you will find all season ticket holders will come to every game and you’ll get other people coming along and signing up for season tickets.”
The club’s ticket office will be open from 10am to 1pm on Saturday, June 20 for season ticket sales.
