A record 000,000 people in Hartlepool had their say on whether or not Britain should stay in the European Union.

A total 70,337 people were registered to vote at the time of going to the polls - an increase of 0.5% on the electorate in last month's local election.

Of these 11,371 - or 16% are postal voters, while the rest had to attend one of the 57 polling stations across the borough.
