STAFF at a medical practice are “over the moon” after reaching the final stages of a Hartlepool Mail-backed awards.
The delighted team at the Hart Medical Practice has been shortlisted in the Best of Health competition which reaches its grand final next month.
Assistant practice manager Angela Hurst said: “We are so pleased.”
The practice was formed in 2009 after the merger of The General Medical Centre and Hart Lodge.
It created one larger business with a database of 9,500 patients with four partners and 15 staff.
“We merged together and tried then to keep both sets of patients happy, but had to implement new systems because we were double the size.”
The new system is working well and Angela added: “We feel as if we have already achieved something, even if we do not win the award.
“It was not an easy job to merge two big practices.”
The nomination for the practice said: “All the doctors, nurses and staff are excellent.
“My husband and myself have a range of medical needs. Among them, we are both epileptic and each other’s carers.
“We could not be as well or independent as we are without the great care and support they give us.
“Nothing is a trouble. They always try to do what they can and go beyond care and support at all times.”
We’ll be bringing you more stories on some of the shortlisted contenders in the coming days as a taster of the standard of entries in the competition.
The stories published are no indication of whether or not the entrant has won the category.
