A HEALTH chief was guest speaker during a residents’ panel meeting.
Alan Foster, chief executive of North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust, was welcomed by members of East Durham Citizens’ Panel.
Mr Foster was invited to the meeting, held at Donnini House in Easington Colliery, by panel chairman John Cairns, who is also an elected governor on the health trust.
Mr Foster spoke about the health outlook for people in Hartlepool and east Durham.
He also explained that the trust was committed to improving screening, especially in an area where the take up is comparatively low and the incidence of cancer higher than the national average.
Mr Cairns said: “It was good of Alan to join our panel last week.
“Panel members appreciated being able to hear about what is going on straight from the horse’s mouth and there was plenty of discussion about health services now and in the future.”
The East Durham Citizens’ Panel meets on the second Tuesday of every month at 4pm at Donnini House and invites various guest speakers from the community.
