STEPHEN Gray’s son braved the icy North Sea to help fight the disease that killed his dad and granddad.
Harry raised £730 with his cousins Adrian Gray, 17, and Rachel Orton, 15, by plunging into the waves off Seaton Carew beach during the last Boxing Day dip.
Harry was just eight years old when he decided to spend the morning after Christmas wet and cold in a bid to help beat the illness that claimed his dad and granddad.
Stephen’s sister and Harry’s aunty, Carole Orton, said the whole family were on the beach to see the three fundraisers in action.
She added: “We are all so, so proud of them, especially Harry doing it for his dad.
“All the family were down there watching, it was quite emotional seeing them and knowing why they were there.
“The three of them went in the sea thinking ‘this is for my uncle, granddad and dad’.
“That’s quite special.”
