A day filled with information for children and their carers is planned in Hartlepool.
IAG Day - Information, Advice and Guidance - will be held at Hartlepool College of Further Education on Thursday, November 5.
Two town organisations have teamed up. They are Healthwatch Hartlepool and 1 Hart 1 Mind 1 Future which won a Best of Hartlepool award this year.
Chairman Christine Fewster said: “It’s specifically for families of children with additional needs and disabilities and we need to spread the word.
“We have lots of information stalls from health, education, service providers, charities and much more.
“We also holding workshops to give parents the opportunity to find out more about direct payments and personal budgets, transition into adult services, autism services and genetic research.”
The event runs from 9.30am to 2pm and is free for people to pop in whenever they want to.
1 Hart, 1 Mind, 1 Future is a group of parents and carers of children with special needs and disabilities.
The Hartlepool-based group runs on a voluntary basis and it is open to all families who have children with special educational needs.
Healthwatch Hartlepool helps people to shape local health services by giving them a voice.
