PEOPLE are being encouraged to take on a new challenge and get fit next year by trying their hand at triathlon.
A new council-run Try a Tri programme aims to make it easier for people of any ability to give the sport a go.
Triathlon traditionally involves cycling, swimming and running one after the other.
Monthly sessions, led by British Triathlon coaches and are open to both men and women over the age of 14.
They take place at Billingham Campus School, Marsh House Avenue, Billingham, on Saturday, February 18, between 10am to 1pm.
Another is scheduled for Saturday, 14 July.
Councillor Ken Dixon, Stockton Borough Council’s cabinet member for arts, leisure and culture, said: “This is a great opportunity for people to have fun and get fit.
“Anyone can take part as the coaches will cater for everyone’s individual fitness, goals and lifestyles.”
A place on the programme costs £25.
