Hearing is adjourned

A MISCONDUCT hearing into allegations made against a family GP has been adjourned after being part-heard.

The Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service (MPTS) say the hearing into Dr Amit Kumar Banerjee, of Wynyard, will reconvene later this year after hearing just part of the evidence.

The 65-year-old, who was born in Calcutta, India, and practised as a GP for NHS Stockton-on-Tees, faces a series of allegations in relation to two patients which he denies and has described as “malicious”.
