A POPULAR fundraising event is preparing to celebrate its tenth year.

The Lobster Charity Ball, held at Hardwick Hall Hotel, Sedgefield, has already raised more than £250,000 for charity.

Now, as the black-tie event enters its tenth year, organiser John Adamson is anticipating another strong showing from the business community.

He said he was confident that guests at the Lobster Ball would be just as generous this year.

The ball, on Friday April 24, will be compered by comedian Brendan Healy, with performances by soul star Jocelyn Brown, Musicians Unlimited Big Band and party group Black and White.

Guests will enjoy a four-course lobster surf and turf meal as well as a fashion show.

All proceeds will go to Daisy Chain, which helps children and families affected by autism.
