Historic fair is joist the job for fun

A MEDIEVAL fair will be joust the job for a day of family fun.

Sedgefield’s 43rd Medieval Fair is expected to attract thousands of people from around the region to see the town transported back in time.

Knights in combat, historic crafts, tug of war, country dancing, birds of prey, fancy dress competitions and a ducking stool are some of the activities arranged for the event on the town’s green and in the grounds of Ceddesfeld Hall.

There will also be a bouncy castle, a bucking bronco and a Punch and Judy show which can be enjoyed by adults and children alike.

A parade on the green will kick off the event, which has been organised by Sedgefield Community Association.

Saturday’s fair will start at 9.45am and run until about 3.30pm.

Wendy Gill, from the group said organisers are hoping the weather will be fine and that people from around the area will pay a visit.
