A Hartlepool care home will be opening its doors to the public as part of the celebrations for Care Home Open Day.
Care UK’s Elwick Grange in Hartlepool is inviting local people to visit the home on Elwick Road on Friday, June 17, for a free family-friendly event.
The day is in celebration of the national initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.
Visitors are invited to a coffee morning, complete with tempting treats and homemade cakes from 10.30am to 4pm.
There will be live entertainment in the afternoon and a sing-a-long to help everyone get in the party spirit.
Elwick Grange home manager Shamaila Seabrook said: “Care Home Open Day is about connecting people and enriching the lives of residents through building lasting relationships with the local community across the generations.
“Opening our doors is also a great opportunity to show what life is really like in a modern care home; and we hope to change any preconceptions people might have while also showing everything Elwick Grange has to offer.”
Visitors to will also be able to pick up their copy of Care UK’s Eating as we Age. The latest in a series of free guides for family carers.
It is packed with hints and tips for keeping healthy and hydrated in older age. The guide can also be downloaded free at www.careuk.com/eat
