AN ORCHESTRA is performing in Hartlepool town centre to raise money for a hospice.
The Pocket Orchestra will play a wide variety of jazz and swing hits in Middleton Grange Shopping Centre this weekend in support of the Hartlepool and District Hospice.
The band will perform alongside a host of guest musicians and vocalists this Saturday, February 12, from noon-4pm.
It is the second time the orchestra have hosted an event to raise money for the hospice after racking up £500 in a similar performance last year.
Greg Hildreth, events and c community facilitator for the hospice, said: “I’m really looking forward to working with the Pocket Orchestra.
“Last year they created a brilliant atmosphere in the centre and raised a fantastic amount of money for the Hospice.
“I’m sure we will have another brilliant day this Saturday and I’d like to thank the band for coming to support us again.”
Sandra Britton, director of information systems management, said: “We are delighted that the Pocket Orchestra is continuing to support the work of the Hospice.
“Their support and that of the volunteers who will be collecting will translate directly to the provision of patient care services for the communities of Hartlepool and east Durham.”
