Hospital wards shut by sickness

THREE hospital wards have been closed after being hit by sickness and diarrhoea.

Two surgical wards and one medical ward at James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough, were closed by the hospital’s infection control team after staff reported symptoms of norovirus.

Visitors who are suffering with sickness and diarrhoea or who feel generally unwell are being asked to delay their visit until they have been free of symptoms for 48 hours to help limit the spread of illness.
