MUSIC fans are in for a treat when one of the world’s biggest bands comes to the region.
Grammy Award-winning four-piece Red Hot Chili Peppers will take to the stage at Sunderland’s Stadium of Light next summer.
The rockers, who have sold more than 60 million albums since forming in Los Angeles in 1983, will play at the venue on June 24 as one of only two UK dates they will play next year.
They are the latest big name act to come to the home of SAFC, following Take That, Oasis, Kings of Leon and Pink.
The gig will also be the band’s first-ever major show in the North-East.
One of the most successful acts in rock history, their hits include Scar Tissue, Californication, Under the Bridge and Give it Away.
Their only other gig in the UK next year will be at Knebworth, Hertfordshire.
Special guests will be announced in due course.
A limited number of tickets, priced £45, will be available from the Stadium of Light ticket office from 9am on Friday, but must be made in-person.
Other UK ticket outlets are kililive.com/rhcp/seetickets.com/ticketmaster.com or by calling 0844 8718803 and 0871 9891601.
