A MAN arrested by police after a car ploughed into the side of a house has been bailed.
The 26-year-old Hartlepool man was arrested after a car crashed into the house in Bruntoft Avenue, in the West View area of Hartlepool, in the early hours of Saturday.
A spokeswoman for Cleveland Police said today the man was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop after a collision, dangerous driving and being unfit to drive through drink or drugs.
She said: “He has been released on bail pending further inquiries.”
The crash happened at around 5.15am on Saturday when a silver BMW 3 Series crashed through a garden wall, across the garden and into the front of the house.
Student Percy Charakupa, 40, was in the property with his wife Rufaro, 30, three children Shaniz, 10, Chantelle, five, Cherise, two, and his brother Fredrick, 34, when they heard a huge bang.
