Huge support for Hartlepool boxer Savannah Marshall’s plan to move to Las Vegas

Messages of support and congratulations have been pouring in for Hartlepool boxer, Savannah Marshall, who is headng to Las Vegas.

The 25-year-old left the amateur game, ending her medal-laden association with the Great Britain squad, last year.

Now it has been announced she is turning professional after being signed by one of the biggest names in boxing, Floyd Mayweather.

Savannah described the venture as “a dream come true”, and hopes to become world middleweight champion as a professional.

She said she can’t wait to get started.

People in Hartlepool were quick to give the boxer their support, leaving messages of congratulations on the Mail’s Facebook page.
