Indian adventure for Poolie boys

A TEN-strong team of Poolies were delighted to show off their pride in their town when they travelled to India for an unforgettable retirement party.

The lads from all across Hartlepool jetted off on the trip of a lifetime to Goa to mark the retirement of John Lax, who worked as a self-employed plasterer before quitting earlier this year.

These pictures were sent in by Peter Swift, who said the friends always enjoy a week away each year.

Peter, from Flaxton Court, said: “We had a great time, we spent a week there and everyone enjoyed it.

“It was arranged to mark John’s retirement, and while we were there another one of the lads, Malcolm Parrott, celebrated his 5oth birthday so it was a double cause for celebration.”

Our thanks go to the lads for backing our Poolie campaign.
