Injured in pub attack

A MAN was taken to hospital after allegedly being attacked in a popular nightspot.

The incident happened in Fever bar, in the Hillcarter Hotel, in Church Street, Hartlepool, at around 1.30am on Sunday.

The victim, a 44-year-old man, received facial injuries in the attack.

Police were called to the bar and he was taken to the University Hospital of Hartlepool before later being released.

The extent of his injuries has not been disclosed but police are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed events leading up to the incident.

Two 46-year-old men have been arrested on suspicion of wounding and have been released on bail pending further investigation.
