A local charity in Peterlee has received a cash boost thanks to shoppers in Asda.
Gateway North East, based in Lee House, Peterlee, provides help, for children and young people with learning disabilities and supports carers.
The group has been given cheques for £200 and £300 from Asda in Peterlee.
The money was raised from the Community Foundation scheme that Asda operates in store via green tokens dropped into a box.
George Cattermole, fundraising co-ordinator for Gateway North East said. “This is terrific boost to the work we do here at Gateway (North East), and we would like to everybody that voted for us”
The cheque was handed over by Sam Donohue, community life champion for Asda to Becky Helmes, from Gateway (North East).
