It makes scents for bored kids to get along to half-term crafts

KIDS can use their imagination to get creative during fun-filled half-term sessions at a town centre-based business.

The Make Scents shop, run by Heidi Readman-Ahmed in The Arches, in Hartlepool’s Park Road, has a host of glittery, sticky, gooey fun planned for youngsters who like to let their imaginations run wild.

On Tuesday, May 28, the shop will be open for a Make Your Own Bath Bomb workshop from 10.30am-noon, where admission is £4.50.

Later that day, from 1.30pm-3pm, youngsters have the chance to make their own message in a bottle bubble bath or body wash, which costs £6 to take part in.

Then on Wednesday, May 29, there is messy play for the under-eights from 10.30am-11.45am and from 11.45am-1pm, costing £3 entry.

From 1.30pm on Wedneday, their is also a Make Your Own Picture Soap session, costing £5 to enter.

On Thursday, May 30, the shop is hosting a bracelet-making class from 10am-11am, with admission £5.

Then on Thursday, from 1.30am-3pm, youngsters can take part in a bath bomb butter top cupcake workshop, costing £7.

And on Friday, May 31, there will be a Make Your Own Solid Shampoo Bar session from 10.30am-11.30am, with entry for this class costing £4.

From 1.30pm-2.30pm that day, there will be a Make Your Own Sock Animal workshop, which costs £7.

Make Scents will also be launching an after-school club next Tuesday, from 4pm-5.30pm, which is for children of school age, though younger siblings are welcome, and snacks and juice are provided.

The half-term sessions follow similar sessions run at the shop during the Easter holidays, which averaged around 15 youngsters per class and were “fab”, says Heidi.

She added: “I love doing the classes for the kids, I love the adults who stay with us joining in and just cant wait for the next round next week.”
