MUSIC fans are in for a treat when a popular watering hole hosts an all-day festival next month.

The Fishermans Arms, in Southgate on the Headland, is playing host to the PinDrop All-Dayer on Saturday, August 16.

The event was held for the first time last year, and Steve Bell, landlord at the Fishermans Arms, is hoping for a similar success.

Steve said: “This is an event we are really looking forward to.

“Last year’s was a huge success, and there’s no reason why this won’t be just as good as our first event.

“We were busy all day, and the feedback was fantastic from everyone who came along.

“We had a great turnout and the bands who performed put on a great show.

“We’ll also have a couple of guest ales on especially for the occasion so all-in-all everything is set up for a really good day.”

TG Elias and Band will perform having played last year, while the award-winning folk duo The Black Feathers will also play after heading back to the UK following a month long tour of the United States of America.

Also lined up to keep drinkers entertained throughout the day are Semitone, Django Alley and The Lamplight Poet.

The Kets will then perform an acoustic set before sets from Andy Jones, Sam Barrass and Lucy French bring proceedings to a close.

The pub will open at 12pm, with the music due to get underway at around 2pm.

Entry is free for everyone, and the event will run until around 11.30pm.

Steve added: “PinDrop have provided a great line-up once again, and with the carnival due to finish the weekend before this event we’re hoping the celebrations over here will continue.”
